Urban Planning and Development
This course focuses on applications of GIS for local
and regional government. The course includes a survey
of topics often dealt with by local governments, including
transportation issues, zoning and land use planning,
environmental analysis, demographic trending, and the
use of GIS for smart growth initiatives. The course
comprises a survey approach with a selection of case
studies and hands-on exercises to illustrate process
and reinforce concepts.
